Week 1: The Beginning

This first week was one hell of a challenge for me. Before I signed up for the Journey, I had made a goal for myself that I would not eat rice, pasta/noodles, bread or processed snacks (like fiber bars, granola bars, crackers, etc.) because they are my go to foods everyday. I eat some type of bread weather it be a wrap, Arnold's thin or a sandwich everyday and sometimes, rice or pasta for dinner also! It was too much and I had to do something about it. Because of this drastic change, I was constantly tired and worn but 2pm! On top of this, I somehow managed to fall down a flight of stairs in my house and landed on my shoulder on the first day of the Journey. So between feeling exhausted all the time and barely being able to put weight on my shoulder...I was miserable but I kept going to class and working.

I dreaded starting the Journey simply because I felt that I was starting all over again and that I was going to do some of the crazy moves I used to do. Luckily, I'm not that far away from where I was 6 months ago but I still have a way to go to get back into fighting shape! I know Ashley is going to help me get there!

As weird as this may sound, my celebration is that I didn't give up on my goal. No matter how great that cake or sandwich looked, I stayed strong and did not give into temptation.

My goal for this week was to plan my meals ahead, whether it was daily or weekly. Unfortunately, I failed at this. I just didn't make the time to plan anything. So, I'm trying again. Either I'll cook somethings for the week or I'm going to wake up early and pack my food for the day.

My inspiration to start this journey is my partner in crime, Tracye. She always know how to push and motivate me to keep going!
